Adolphus Clayton

Adolphus Clayton, age 62, of Amarillo, died suddenly on September 9, 2023 in Amarillo.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at New Life Church, with Pastor Spike Maldonado officiating.

Adolphus was born June 27, 1961, in Dimmitt to his parents, Earl and Martha Murphy Clayton.

He was a genuine and good person who would give the shirt off his back to help others.  A simple man, he loved to host cook-outs and watch wrestling and old movies, especially old Westerns.  Adolphus loved those Cowboys, too, but nothing compared to his love for his family.  He will be forever missed.

His parents and brother, Arthur Clayton, John Jones, James Dockins, and George Cox, preceded him in death.

Adolphus is survived by his wife, Starla; two daughters, Martha and Brianna Clayton; sisters, Martha, Teresa, Esther, Alci, Marie, Cora, Ora, and Mary; his brothers, William, Bill, Charles, and Noland; and by his extended family, Troy, Teresa, Melanie, Tino, Jesus, Malachi, Raymond, Angela, and Leticia.
