Alicia Velazquez

Alicia Velazquez, 83, of Amarillo died Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Private funeral services will be at Angel Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Velazquez was born March 5, 1937 in Canatlan, Durango to Antonio Salazar and Maria Ortega. She worked as a restaurant owner, seamstress and homemaker.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Lydia Velazquez; sister, Teresa Salazar; and husband, Alberto Velazquez.

Mrs. Velazquez is survived by five sons, Fidel Velazquez, Hector Velazquez and Jaime Velazquez all of Amarillo, Sergio Velazquez of Monterey, Mexico and Jorge Velazquez of Torreon, Mexico; daughter, Yolanda Velazquez-Armenta of Juarez, Mexico; two brothers, Antonio Salazar Ortega and Uvaldo Salazar Ortega; 14 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
