Anna Marie Hollenstein Kleman, age 95, formerly of Amarillo, died peacefully in Dimmitt on April 26, 2023.
A rosary service will be held at 6 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 4100 S. Coulter, with a vigil following at 6:30. The funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas. The interment will be at the Umbarger Cemetery in Umbarger at 2:00 PM on Monday.
Anna was born April 1, 1928 in Umbarger to Meinrad Joseph and Agnes Friemel Hollenstein. She attended West Texas High School in Canyon, where she was voted most beautiful.
Anna married Elmer Arthur Kleman on April 8, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Umbarger. She worked at the side of her husband through all of his endeavors. She had a servant’s heart and was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Anna dearly loved her family and many friends and was adored in return.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; a son, Robert; brothers, Ernest and Herman Hollenstein; sisters, Marie Venhaus, Emma Nihill, Martha, Regina, and Bertha Huseman; a grandson; and by a great-granddaughter.
Anna is lovingly survived by her children Cynthia Ann Denton, Patrick Neal Kleman, and his wife Robin, Christopher Kleman; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beloved nieces and nephews.
The family suggests the memorials be made to Catholic Charities of the Panhandle, 2004 N Spring St, Amarillo, TX 79107, or St. Jude, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
