Arthur "Sandy" Lynn Morris

Arthur "Sandy" Lynn Morris, 86, of Clarendon, peacefully passed on in his home surrounded by loved ones on Friday, April 04, 2025.

Sandy was born in Quitaque, Texas, on December 23, 1938, to Arbralee Morris and Elise Fay Dunavant. He graduated from White Deer High School and was a proud member of the Army. Sandy married his sweetheart Nancy in December of 1961; they spent an incredible 63 years together, creating a loving legacy. He served the Amarillo Community as one of APD’s homicide detectives, helping many people and once again highlighting his dedication.

One thing about Sandy is that he loved big and taught this to his family, who continue to carry on his legacy. He was never one to shy away from showing you how much he cared for you. Family was important to Sandy; he was always surrounded by them, whether showing them how to steer a boat on a fishing trip or in the kitchen, helping to create delicious food. Traveling was one of his favorite pastimes. One of his favorite places was Washington State, where he enjoyed the scenery with his wife, Nancy. Sandy was a man of many talents; he could fix anything he put his mind to, meticulously taking care of things, and always had his brain working on his next project.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lou Lou and Elma, and grandson Christopher.

Those left to carry on his legacy of loving big include his wife Nancy, sons Arthur Lynn Jr. Morris, Tracy Jay Morris and wife Jeannie Morris, Jason Mark Morris and wife Tina Morris, sister Virginia Bailey, 14 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

He will be truly missed by his loving family.
