Bobby Joe Garcia

April 15, 1960 — October 16, 2023

Amarillo

Bobby Joe Garcia, 63, of Amarillo, passed away on October 16, 2023.

Per Bobby's wishes, no services will be scheduled at this time.

On October 16th, Bobby Jo Garcia passed peacefully under the quiet stillness of an Amarillo autumn night.  Son of Joe and Betty Garcia, Bobby was born and raised in the Texas Panhandle.  He was rough and tumble, like many growing kids in the panhandle.  In 1978, Bobby left high school early to join the US Army, serving till July 1979.

After being released from the Army, Bobby would go on to hold a multitude of jobs and venture to many places.  He was always up for an adventure, big or small.  He would share stories of the people and places he’s seen.  And sometimes, he would bring back something glamorous or shiny.  As a result, he was a gifted storyteller and always made you laugh.  He loved opening his home for everyone and was the perfect party host, even from his bedside.

Bobby was one of a kind.  He always had a song in his head that he would sing or dance to.  He was always bright in the mornings, making even the biggest grump feel better.  He found brightness and shared kindness with countless hearts.  He made friends wherever he went using his sharp humor.

Bobby enjoyed cooking, gardening, collecting vintage jewelry/fashion, and making trouble.  All of which he would be more than happy to share.  He loved home and southern-style cooking.  One of the yearly things he cooked was fried green tomatoes.

He was indeed a living definition of fabulous.  He had a style of his own.  He was known to wear jewelry and a fur cape with sweats or a tank top underneath.  He loved this style and was not afraid to show it.  This was not limited to himself; he also enjoyed decorating the holidays.  If it were a holiday, he would decorate it.  He loved a theme and would use various color schemes to display his creativity.  It was always fun to see what he would come up with next.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Haas-Garcia, Betty, Joe, and Clarence.

He is survived by his partner Price; his son Justin; sister Virginia;  stepdaughters Amanda and Megan; stepson David; grandsons Dallas and Axl; granddaughter Savannah; and mothers in law; Joanna and Rose; along with too many friends to count.
He will be missed, and the world is a little dimmer without him.
