Carryl Trapp King, 65, of Amarillo passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 after a short but aggressive battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Carryl and her twin brother, Darryl were born in Artesia, NM on March 15, 1957 to Robert Wilson Trapp and Verna Raye Snyder Trapp. She attended school in Perryton, TX after which she went on to a civil engineering training program in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. After a brief position at a firm, she then moved to Amarillo, TX and retired from Atmos Energy in 2016.
Carryl married William King on June 2, 2012 at a destination wedding in Park Hills, Missouri, the original home of the groom. They resided in Amarillo where they met and continued their lives there. Carryl enjoyed her dogs, especially her dachshunds.
Local dirt track racing, NASCAR, Krankers Kar Klub, and other car club events were among Carryl’s favorite activities. She enjoyed the car club and racing community where she had many friends. She was also a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball team, and cheered on the Dallas Cowboys as often as they played. She also loved camping in Missouri and Southeast Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her children, Mary Jarreau and William Charles Nicholson, II (Buddy); and by her twin brother, Darryl Trapp.
Carryl is survived by her husband, William King of Amarillo, TX; and her children, Arthur Nicholson of Iconium, MS, Kristin Fuselier of LA, Robert Fisher of Amarillo, TX, Jerry Fisher of Junction City, KS, Misty Fisher of Van Buren, Missouri, Tiffany Nicholson of Amarillo, TX, and Roseanna Ehrhart of Katy, TX; 22 grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren, with 2 on the way.
