Charles Ryan Gotcher

December 23, 1974 — April 6, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Charles Ryan Gotcher (Scrappy) announces his sudden passing on Friday, April 6, 2018.

Private Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Ryan was brought into this world on December 23, 1974 to Robin Bonnette Bristow and Charles Gotcher. Ryan arrived home on Christmas Day 1974 and was thought by Robin to be the best Christmas present she ever had. Ryan worked as his grandfather’s apprentice at United Title & Floor for more than 25 years. Working under his grandfather’s tutelage was one of the things Ryan was most proud of.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his parents, Robin Bonnette Bristow and Charles Gotcher (as well as stepmother, Tana). Ryan is also fondly remembered by his grandfather, Hilton Richard Gotcher. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Bunny Gotcher.

Ryan will also be missed by his grandmother, Bonnie McSpadden; brother, Skylar Martin Bristow; stepfather, Martin Bristow; uncles, Allen McSpadden, Curtis Tim McSpadden, Greg Pantel, "Dribbles Dallas, and Wayne Gotcher; family friend and role model, Robert Covington; cousins, Zachary Pantel, Tara Pantel, Jason McSpadden, Jill Gotcher Brown, Jason Gotcher, Shawn Gotcher; and stepbrother, Ryan Whitley. We will miss Ryan dearly.

The last time that Ryan and Skylar spoke, yet again he spoke of this….

“Ryan described his own relationship with their mother, Robin yet again. He mentioned as he always had, mom was his best friend and always would be. One of Robin and Ryan’s favorite songs was from the artist, Van Morrison titled, Days like this. “Well my mama told me there’ll be days like this.”

It’s the speaks of the days of every and all of his life and his best friend of 43 years, his mom.
