Christie "Chris" Lea (Droll) Sieren

June 30, 1954 — June 9, 2022

On June 9th, 2022, Christie Lea Droll Sieren (Chris), 67, received a call from her parents in Heaven as they were starting a new card game of "31" with other family members.  On Earth, as Chris was surrounded with loved ones, she couldn't resist joining them at the game table after battling cancer for 4 years.

Memorial services will be held at the Marr Park Conservation Center, Ainsworth IA, at 4 o’clock P.M., on Sunday, July 3, 2022 with Pastor Jason Collier officiating, visitation time with family from 2 o’clock to 4 o’clock P.M.  Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, family asks to bring a picnic snack to share and memorial donations to Ainsworth Community Center Opera House (ACT), BSA Hospice of Amarillo, TX or No Child Goes Hungry.

Born on June 30, 1954, in Washington, Iowa; the 2nd of 5 children, to Charles (Bud) William Droll and Alice Lorraine Howell Droll, Chris grew up in Ainsworth, Iowa.

Chris and Dick raised their children in Washington, living there for 32 years, before moving to Ainsworth for 12 more.  Chris had many rewarding jobs during her life, including manager at Wal-Mart, a partner in HUGS Event and Travel partnership, and her favorite, working as a Para Educator for 8 years, at Highland Community School, before retiring in 2018.  In 2019 Chris and Dick ventured a move to Amarillo, Texas to be closer to their grandchildren and have made their home there.

Chris loved planning trips, spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren, cooking, baking, volunteering, and crafting.  She loved and was loved by all who met her, for her quirky sense of humor, easy laughter, her kind and understanding nature, and her unconditional love for her family.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dick, her children Joel (Nicole) Sieren of Amarillo, Texas, Christopher (Crystal Van Pelt) Sieren of Kimball, Nebraska and Kort (Celia) Sieren of Amarillo, Texas.  Her grandchildren, Shawn Allen-Van Pelt, Christian Allen-VanPelt, Jesse Heide-Sieren, Maddison Sieren, Kaitlynn Allen-Van Pelt, Hayden Sieren and Kellan Sieren.  Her sisters, Sherrie Hazen-Hansen (Jim) of Ainsworth, Iowa; Jennie Gerot (Duane) of Ainsworth, Iowa, Laurie Haeder (friend Doug Rebik) of Des Moines, Iowa, and Beverly Skovgard (Jim) of Casper, Wyoming.  Aunts Marilyn Sedivec of Portland, Oregon and Karen Droll of Concrete, Washington.  As well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
