Christina Maria Salcido, known as Tina or Chrissy to some, a longtime resident of Amarillo, TX passed away October 30, 2021, at the age of 38.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021 at Hillside Christian Church, 6100 S. Soncy. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Christina was born August 25, 1983 in Iowa Falls to Rosalie Meindl and Jessie Salcido. A graduate of Highland Park, she went on to pursue a degree in nursing from Amarillo College as well as being an aspiring model. She enjoyed having family come over for the holidays and birthdays to reminisce about the past. She loved art, her favorite artist being, Frida Kahlo. She was also very fond of cooking, movies and music. Christina was beautiful, cunning, passionately strong willed, and loved deeply. While she did not complete college, she found love and solace when she gave birth to her daughter in 2013. She fiercely loved everyone in her circle. Christina battled with inner demons most of her adult life, while she did try to get help; God had other plans and called her home. Christina’s brilliant smile and her love for her daughter will live on forever.
She is preceded in death by her older brother, Roberto Salcido.
Christina is survived by her daughter, Aryna Ortega; parents, Jessie Salcido of El Paso and Rosalie Meindl of Amarillo; and sisters, Andrea Salcido, Dulce Loredo and Jessica Salcido. As well as close friends and family, Adolfo Ortega, Colleen Salas, Arthur Dyke, Daniel Meindl, Melody Cockerham, Theresa Salcido, Maira Salcido, Solidad Moreno, Lynden Balderas and countless others.
