Cruz Navarro

Cruz Navarro age 83 of Amarillo, entered the gates of Heaven on November 26, 2022 in Amarillo.

A rosary service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur.  The funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Laurence Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur.

Cruz was born on February 16, 1939 in Hondo, Texas to Francisco and Maximina Navarro.  He spent his life working in the construction industry to provide for his family.

He married JoAnne Garcia in 1990 in Amarillo.  The couple worked hard to ensure that their two families would become one.  They attended St. Laurence Catholic Church.

The family would like to express their gratitude to BSA Hospice of the Southwest and a very special thank you to his nurse, Audrianna.

Cruz was preceded in death by his parents Francisco Navarro and Maximina B. Navarro; two sons Juan Alvarado and Ernest Navarro; a sister, Feliciana Navarro; by four brothers, Epifianio, Jose, Francisco Jr. and Lorenzo Navarro.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joanne; His sons, Eliazar Alvarado and his wife Belma, Carlos Navarro and wife Anita, and Mario Zuniga; by his daughters, Nellie Benavidez and her husband Ricky, Leandra Alvarez and her husband Jeremiah, Tina Wood and her husband James and Aundria Garcia; by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren. Cruz also leaves behind his brother Angel Navarro and sister Juanita Ozuna.
