Dannion Shepard
Close your eyes. Now imagine the sun’s warm grasp on your skin. The whispers of the wind traveling through the earth’s cracks and crevices. The beautiful aroma of wild flowers and vegetation. You open your eyes to a view of which only creatures of flight get to enjoy. At any canyon or the top of any mountain, was a place of solace for my brother Dannion Shepard. Not only did he push himself past the highest point of a climb but also in every area of his life. So it’s no surprise that he excelled as a roof repair tech. But the sky wasn’t his only point of view. He had aspirations to view the world from beneath the surface. Beneath the surface of all the commotion, of all sounds that traverse on the winds to a place of true quietness. A place in the deep big blue as an underwater welder. But while striving towards that goal he found freedom and peace cutting through the wind on the back of his motorcycle. He found companionship and brotherhood through his crew “Scum of Texas”. But the one uniting factor in every single aspect of his life, no matter where he was, no matter what he was doing, you would always find this young man inspiring every life he came in contact with. You would find encouragement, excitement, boldness, humor, humility and an everlasting love. All it would take is just one glance. In just a glance, you would see a rock. Let that glance turn into a look. With one look, you would see that rock turn into an anchor. He IS an anchor. Even now, his life is an anchor for everyone left behind.
“Dannion was very loved and was loved hard.”
“He was Moms rock, he was her everything.”
“He was K’s ‘one and only’, ‘ride or die.”
“He will always be my bubba.”
“There’s not enough words to describe the amazing person that you were baby brother.”
“We did it kid”
“Rest easy little brother. We’ll ride the Golden Streets when I get there. GBNF.”
You will be infinitely loved. You will be infinitely missed.
