Danny Joe Larkan, 61, of Amarillo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at Hillside Christian Church West Campus Chapel, 6100 Soncy. The family requests everyone wear a mask. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Danny was born April 3, 1959 in Amarillo to Orville (Shorty) and Margaret Larkan. He worked as a crane operator for Larkan Steel Erectors for 15 years then became self-employed installing metal buildings. Danny was a man of many trades. Not only did he work in the iron industry, but he also worked on cars. He enjoyed restoring classic hot rods, he also liked to ride his Harley. Danny was a big Nascar fan as well as football fan. His biggest passion was fishing. If he wasn’t working, the best place to find him was on the lake doing what he loved to do. The two most important people to him were Amy, his wife of 11 years and 7 year old son, Eli Joe. Once Eli was born, it was all over with! This little boy had his daddy wrapped around his finger. Family was very important to Danny as he came from a large one with ten children. Danny was a great brother, cousin, uncle and friend but was best at being an amazing husband and daddy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret; father, Orville (Shorty); two brothers, Dennis Larkan and Donnie Larkan; and a nephew, Tonto.
Danny is survived by his wife, Amy and son, Eli Joe, both of the home; brothers, Orville Larkan and wife, Donna, Roy Larkan, Kenny Larkan and wife, Mary, Mark Larkan and Eddie Larkan and his wife, Jan; sisters, Brenda Weser and husband, Tom and Linda Land; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, inlaws and outlaws.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to American Heart Association or Autism Speaks.
