Dora Cardoza, 88, of Amarillo passed away on May 15, 2014.
VISITATION will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at Angel Funeral Home.
MEMORIAL SERVICE will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Angel Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Reyes officiating. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home 2209 S. Arthur St. Amarillo, Texas.
Dora was born on January 27, 1926 in Mercedes, Texas to Rodolfo and Juana Ramirez. She moved to Amarillo in 1961. Dora worked for Amarillo Independent School district for many years. She became a care taker after retirement. She had been a member of Christian Life Center since 1980. She loved to crochet and sew for family and friends. She was a natural seamstress.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Rodolfo Ramirez and Juana Galvan Olivarez; husband, Marcelino V. Cardoza; brother, Raul G. Ramirez; sister, Evangelina Ramirez; daughters, Irene Cardoza and Alberta Cardoza and son, Jose Maria Cardoza.
Survivors include daughters, Marie Maestas of Amarillo, TX, Marta Peña of Galloway, OH, Emma Palacio and husband, Andres of Mojave, CA, and Consuelo Benson and husband, Thomas of Jackson, Mississippi; son, Rodolfo R. Cardoza of Edinburg, TX and special daughter-in-law, Angie Holdaway of Amarillo, TX; had 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
