Dora Alicia Garcia

Dora Alicia Garcia, 64, of Amarillo passed away on February 1, 2022.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 2pm in the funeral home’s Chapel of Angels. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery.

Dora was bonr on July 3, 1957 in Obregon Sonora, Mexico to Joaquin Garcia Sanchez and Rosa Sanchez Gomez. She graduated with an associate’s degree in accounting from Escuela De Carreras Dell DF, and she greatly enjoyed being an accountant. Dora could be described as a humanitarian who really enjoyed helping people. She was very devoted to God and loved to talk to people about her religion. She was a very hardworking person who took great pride in doing her job.

Dora was a very generous person who would quite literally give someone the shirt off her back if they were in need. Her daughter and grandchildren were her pride and biggest joy. Dora was also very fond of dogs and always had at least two or three around. She was always helping out the homeless by either feeding them or making sure they were able to get to church services. She was a very welcoming person and never met a stranger. Dora was a very strong minded and strong willed woman, traits that she passed down to her daughter.

Dora is preceded in death by her mother Rosa, and grandparents Manuel and Guadalupe (Lopez) Garcia. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Diana Ramirez of Lincoln, Nebraska, sons Elvis and Efrain Garcia-Sanchez of Villa Hermosa Tobasco, Mexico; and granddaughter Jaime Nayeli Juarez and grandsons Angel Librado Juarez and Joel Arturo Juarez all of Lincoln, Nebraska. She also leaves behind her brothers Guadalupe, Joaquin, Roberto, and Leonel Garcia-Sanchez all of Villa Hermosa Tobasco, Mexico.
