Edward Garcia Tijerina

Edward G. Tijerina, Sr., 86, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2016.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Monday, August 22nd at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 23rd at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Jose Gomez as celebrant. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Edward was born January 1, 1930 in Danevang, Texas to Juan and Antonia Tijerina. He married Eddy Florez in Amarillo in 1965 and this has been there home ever since. He worked for several years at Iowa Beef and then retired after a few years of working in the Highland School District. He truly loved his grandkids and he will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Eddy; three sons, Edward Tijerina Jr. of Amarillo, Carlos Tijerina of McKinney, and Abel Tijerina of Amarillo; a special daughter, Heather Lynn Tijerina of Amarillo, two sisters, Eva Saucedo and Mary Garcia, both of El Campo; three grandchildren, Jacob Newby, Brandon Tijerina, and Brooke Tijerina; and three great grandchildren, Miguel Solomon, Liam Lewis, and Bradley Tijerina.
