Edwin 'Papa' H. Ferrell

Edwin ‘Papa’ H. Ferrell, 73, of Amarillo, left this world on Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Services will be at 4:00 PM Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Angel Funeral Home’s Chapel of Angels with Pastor Mitch Wilson of The Message Church of Shallowater officiating. Military Honors courtesy of Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Edwin was born to Edwin E. Ferrell and Mae P. Carraway on July 16, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas. He moved to Amarillo in 1961, where he met the love of his life, Edith Hunter. He married Edith on June 22, 1969 in Clovis, New Mexico. They had two children together, David and Deana. They shared 48 years of happiness together. Edwin proudly served his country for 21 years in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed listening to old country music and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin E. Ferrell and Mae Carraway; a grandson, Cody Boswell; and a great granddaughter, Madison Preswood.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Ferrell of Amarillo; one son, David Ferrell and wife Helen of Amarillo; one daughter, Deana Shelburne and husband Roy, of Amarillo; his puppy, Little Man; three adopted daughters, Holly Shelburne and husband Billy, of Amarillo, Chris Franklin and husband Robert of Canyon, and Cristi Wyble and husband Larry of Canyon; one brother, Dan Ferrell and wife Mary Jo of Missouri; one sister, Cynthia Volker of San Antonio; 19 grandchildren, Alisha Ainsworth and husband Jason of Andalusia, AL, Robert Boswell of Andalusia, AL, Talon Haire and wife Becky of Gruver, Ashley Haire and partner Jaysun of Canyon, Hunter Ferrell of Tulia, Kahgan Shelburne of Amarillo, Copen Shelburne of Amarillo, Aspen Worsham and husband Nathan of Amarillo, Bailey Follmer and partner Wayne of Amarillo, Piper Follmer and partner Don of Amarillo, Jett Shelburne of Amarillo, Kasilynn Wyble of Canyon, Jacob Wyble of Canyon, Ashley Higgs and husband Chris of Amarillo, Kristy Frank of Denver, CO, DeeAnna Jordan and husband Jesse of Cheyenne, WY, Angela Martin and husband James of Amarillo, Skylar Adams and husband Tyler of Canyon, and Dalton Franklin of Canyon; 18 great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Hooks, Angel East, Donna East, Timothy East, Little Jason Ainsworth, all of Andalusia, AL, Daltrey Haire of Gruver, London Higgs, Abbigail Lowery, Leighton Higgs, all of Amarillo, Natalie Lowery of Canyon, DaniLee Martin, Alex Martin, Jeramiah Martin, all of Amarillo, Addison Keener of Denver, CO, Ashlynn Jordan of Cheyenne, WY, Dixie Adams of Canyon, Adelyn Worsham of Amarillo, and Rebel Hankins of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
