Elizabeth Anne Sarvis

Elizabeth Anne Sarvis of Amarillo died October 23, 2022.

She never liked being the center of attention, and per her wishes there will be no memorial service

Elizabeth was born Elizabeth Anne Hughes on March 27, 1952 in Colville, Washington to Walt and Jeanne Hughes. In 1975 she met Stephen Sarvis Jr. at Dallas Bible College, and they were married in 1976.

She was a loving mother and Nana to four children and nine grandchildren. She often said her family was and always would be, her greatest treasure. Her ministry reached far beyond her home though. She prayed for so many daily, and through her loving spirit, she touched the lives of countless people.

While choosing to raise her family first, Elizabeth never lost her desire for education, and after her children left home, she got her bachelor’s degree and then returned to earn a master’s degree in psychology.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Jeanne Hughes. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Stephen Sarvis, four children and three son-in-laws; Sarah and Casey Wise of Garden City, KS, Miriam & Jesse Guajardo of Amarillo, TX, Matthew Sarvis of Denton, TX, and Gina & Allen Reid of Florence, SC, nine grandchildren, and her sister, Ruth Hughes of Omaha, NE. There were many others not related by blood, but whom she loved dearly and considered family.
