Enriqueta "Kine" Ortega

Enriqueta “Kine” Ortega, 76, of Amarillo passed away November 24, 2019.

Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Blessed Sacrament. Memorial mass will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the church. An additional Memorial Mass will be at 11:00 a.m.,Friday, November 29, 2019 at Our Mother of Mercy in Merkel, TX with a Inurnment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Kine was born July 15, 1943 in Merkel, TX to Lucio Lozano and Teresa Biera. She married the love of her life, Leopoldo Ortega, Sr. on November 23, 1960 and together, they had 10 children, 31 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and gardening. She also love garage sales and thrift shopping. She enjoyed Little Joe and all genres of music. She was a Guadalupana in the Catholic Church.

Mrs. Ortega is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Lozano and Larry Ramirez; sisters, Ermina and Janie Ramirez; grandchildren, Victor Ortega and Andre Owens; and 1 sister in law, Patricia Ramirez.

She is survived by 5 sons, Leopoldo Ortega, Jr. and wife, Jeannia, Victor Ortega, Joseph Ortega, John Paul Ortega, Sr. and wife, Christine, and Christopher Ortega; 5 daughters, Lupe Fasano, Angela Owens, Maria Bitela, Teresa Ortega and Gabrielle Ortega; 2 brothers, Alex Ramirez and wife, Diane and Morris Ramirez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
