Freddie Joe Smith, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 in Amarillo.
Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, August 12, 2016 at New Beginnings Gospel Center, 1400 SW 8th, Amarillo, TX 79101 with Rev. Ed Arington officiation. Cremation services are arranged by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Mr. Smith was born on May 26, 1950 to Charlie and Ruth Smith in Hollis, Oklahoma. Freddie enjoyed wood-working, fishing and camping. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Mildred R. Gilliam, Wanda Maxine Baxter, Marita Charlene Spencer and Etta Carlene Hall; and one brother, Jimmy Doyle Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Smith, of Amarillo; two daughters, Kimberly Keesee and husband Chris of Lubbock, and Chasity Hunt, of Lubbock; one sister, Susie Weimer of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle, Aaron and Courtney Thompson, all of Amarillo, Cameron, Cody and Kaitlyn Davis, and Christopher Keesee, all of Lubbock; and two great grandchildren, Rylan Davis of Aurora, Colorado and Lainee Thompson of Amarillo.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Amarillo S.P.C.A., 11901 S. Coulter St., Amarillo, TX 79119.
