Gilbert Riojas

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gilbert Riojas of Amarillo, Texas, who left us on January 28, 2025. Gilbert was born to Elias Riojas and Mary Galvan on November 3, 1963, in Plainview, Texas. 

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 05, 2025, at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, with Rev. Anthony Neusch as celebrant. 

In 1983, Gilbert graduated from Palo Duro High School and went on to marry Dannette Barela in 1990. He was a loving man with a big heart, known for being everyone’s favorite. A passionate football fan, he particularly supported the Dallas Cowboys. Gilbert also enjoyed watching old Western movies. His charismatic and humorous nature brought joy to those around him, and he always shared a good laugh. He will be dearly missed and remembered fondly by many, along with the various nicknames he held. 

Left behind to cherish Gilbert's memory include his parents Elias Riojas and Mary Galvan; wife Dannette Riojas; son Christian Riojas; 5 sisters Diane Robbins of Victorville, CA, Lisa Seamster of Mesquite, TX, Dolores Fernandez, Julie Hearn of Amarillo, TX, and Celina Riojas of Fresno, CA; 2 brothers Eli and David Riojas of Amarillo, TX; and 3 grandkids Kendryk, AD Junior, and Marcella Navarro.
