Gilbert M. Solis, 55, of Amarillo died Saturday, November 7, 2009.
Visitation services will be Tuesday November 10th at the Chapel of the angels at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m..
Gilbert was born on November 19, 1953 in Amarillo, Texas to Louis and Margaret Solis. He worked in Amarillo as a truck driver delivering periodicals. He attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mr. Solis enjoyed bowling, dancing, playing softball and horse shoes, listening to tejano music, and cookouts with family and friends.
Mr. Solis is preceded in death by his father, Louis Solis and his sister, Yolanda Solis.
Mr. Solis is survived by his wife Joann Solis, sons Gilbert Solis Jr., his wife Rachel, Steven Andrew Solis, and daughter Sylvia Solis. He is also survived by his mother Margaret Rubalcaba and her husband Posiano “Pancho” Rubalcaba step daughters Felicia Flores, her husband Albert Armenderiz, Michelle Salazar, Yvette Zapata, Cynthia Perez, Melinda Perez, Jessica Sosa, Khristina Sosa, Analicia Sosa. He is also survived by grandchildren Brianna Ortiz, Valencia Ortiz, Adrianna Ortiz, Anthony Solis, Darius Solis, Stephanie Armendariz, Alex Armendariz, Destiny Flores, Eric Flores, Michael Salazar, and Serria Cortez.
The family suggest memorials be to BSA Hospice, P. O. Box 950 Amarillo, TX. 79105.
