Manuel Duran, 56, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
Rosary will be said 6:00 pm Thursday, February 19 at Angel Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 Friday, February 20 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Rev. Haider Quintero as Celebrant. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur, Amarillo, Tx 79103.
Manuel was born June 11, 1958 in San Francisco de Conchos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Estaban and Consuelo Duran. He married Rosa Manriquez on December 25, 1981. Manuel worked as a custodian at Amarillo College for 10 years before working as a baker for Walmart for 7 years. He was a phenomenal cake baker and decorator. He loved gardening and raising exotic birds. Manuel also enjoyed cooking and was a jokester, as well as a family man and a great father. He will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother; 1 daughter, Tanya Duran; and 2 brothers, Sergio and Luis Duran.
He is survived by his wife; his father; 2 sons, Edur Duran and Deion Duran and fiancé, Jamy; 2 sisters, Lupe Garcia and Veronica Duran; 1 brother, Francisco Duran; and 3 grandchildren, Zadian Duran, Damian Soto, and Ayden Gonzalez, all of Amarillo.
The family suggest memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
