Ira Leonard “Lenny” Boydstun was born September 17,1957 to Maurice Boydstun and Marjorie Fleischer.
Lenny was the oldest of three children; being born to a military father, the family moved to different states and countries. Eventually, the family settled in Georgia, where they took up roots. Lenny eventually married Lanita Stewart and started his family; after some time in the military and wanting more stability for his family, he took up carpentry. Lenny was offered an opportunity with a contractor in Amarillo, Texas where he built many homes. He also made furniture and projects for friends and family. Lenny was an avid fisherman and motorcycle rider, bringing peace to his life and his conversations with God. Lenny was known for being a giver and any opportunity he had to help others. He would give the shirt off his back and his last dollar. Lenny spent time working for Habitat for Humanity, and with his knowledge of carpentry, he could help others with their projects. One of Lenny's best attributes was his great personality and never knowing a stranger. Lenny had the gift of gab and an incredible sense of humor. You never knew what would come out of his mouth, but rest assured you would laugh. We will miss his ability to make us all laugh in any situation, his love for the outdoors, and his love for God and family.
Lenny is preceded in death by his father Maurice Boydstun.
Lenny is survived by his longtime girlfriend Melinda Mcleland of Amarillo; his mother, Marjory Stewart; his sister Debbie Stewart of Georgia; a brother, David Boydstun of South Carolina; four daughters, Sylvia and Ariel of Ponder, TX, Lourie and TJ McVay, Kimberly, Lynn and Derek of Amarillo; thirteen grandchildren, Tyler, Masey, Derrick, Braley, Kaylee, Bryson, Kyle, Ashton, Blake, Camden, Josh, Cole, and Nevaeh; and five great-grandchildren.
