Jack Lyle Stafford, 85, of Amarillo, passed peacefully on October 3, 2023.

The family will celebrate Jack’s life on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the Angel Funeral Home’s Chapel of Angels, 2209 S. Arthur, with Greg Corona of Hillside Christian presiding.

Jack Stafford was born in Mclean, Texas, on 11-12-1937 to Austin E. Stafford and Dollie Wise.  He went to school and graduated from McLean High School.  He joined the Navy in 1956 and joined the Reserves in 1960 through 1962.  He was based in San Diego, California, and commissioned to the USS Rice during his service in the Navy.  After leaving the Navy, he moved from California back to Texas in 1964.  He lived in Amarillo, Texas, and in the Texas Panhandle for the rest of his life.  He worked in the oil field, farmed, and retired with British Petroleum.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping.  He was very witty and had a great sense of humor.  Loved to tell stories and make you laugh.  He married Lillian Zoretta Goble in August of 1970 in Stillwater, OK. They were happily married for 47 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Janice Albracht, and her husband, Timothy Albracht of Amarillo, Texas; Stepson, Billy Annett, and wife, Sharon Annett of Russellville, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Tronnie Dowdy and husband, Greg Dowdy of Gilmer, Texas.  Grandchildren Jade Webb Richards Lake and Husband Richard Lake of Amarillo, Texas; Jensen Webb and wife Anita Webb of Lexington, Kentucky; Jillian Webb and partner Alex Prawitz of San Marcos, Texas; Chelsi Annett of Beloit, Ks; Brandon Annett of Emporia, Kansas; Leiah Annett of San Diego, CA;  Cassandra Annett of Pampa, Tx; Breeanna Perryman of Amarillo, Tx; Andrew Greico of Minot, ND; Johnathan Houghton and wife Jara Houghton of Amarillo, Tx; Aaron Houghton and wife Jessica of Amarillo, TX; Caleb Houghton and wife Brittany Houghton of Amarillo, TX.  Grandchildren: Victoria, Seve, Violet, Simon, Scarlett, Leo, Scout, Kyler, Keegan, Daytona, Braelyn, Christian, Elon, Oralu, Carissa, Eli, Arya, Emeric, Alexander, Phoenix.  His Brother, Don Stafford, and wife, Shirley Stafford, of Chandler, TX. Jack is preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephan Scott Stafford; stepson, Ricky Annett; brother, Wayne Stafford; sister, Janice Anderson; and beloved wife, Zoretta Stafford.
