Jerry Lee Cawthron

Jerry Lee Cawthron 82 years old died peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Amarillo, Tx.

Jerry was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in June of 2019. He was under home hospice care for 4 months. He contracted Covid-19 and passed away on Dec. 24th 2020.

Jerry was a member of The Door Christian Fellowship. Even though he did not attend in person, he watched faithfully on-line up to the Sunday before he passed.

Jerry was born Oct. 7th 1938 in Vernon, Tx. He was a graduate of Okla-Union High School. He started working on the Wagner Ranch when he was 16. Then started his career as a race horse jockey. He did that for 16 years, racing in New Mexico, Texas & Arizona. In 1970 his career changed, he started cutting meat in several different grocery stores, and did that for 30 years. He drove for Pizza Hut from 1999 through October 2018. Where he retired just a few days before his 80th birthday.

He was proceeded in death by his father Homer Cawthron, his mother Isabel Cawthron, his brother Billy Cawthron (who also died on Christmas Eve) and his son Scotty Cawthron.

He’s survived by his wife Maria Cawthron of Amarillo, Tx. His step-daughter Rachel Hudson, husband John & their 3 children: Trae, Richard & Eleanor of Amarillo, Tx. His son Gary Todd Graham of Ruidoso New Mexico, his daughter Teaatta. His daughter Julie Gerry & husband Kyle & their son Wyatt of Conifer Colorado. Chad Gerry & wife Jessie of Highland Ranch, Colorado. Tylar Sunner & husband Adam of Lakeland Georgia. Also 4 great-grandchildren. Jerry had 3 step-sons. Paul Michael Solis, & Rosanna of Thousand Oaks, California. Stevan Solis, Daisy & their 2 children of Oxnard, California. Anthony Solis, Toni & their 2 sons of El Cajon, California.
