Jewell Deen Millan

Jewell Millan was born January 19, 1940 in Clarendon Texas to William Joseph David and Evadeen Warner David. She and her siblings, four brothers and one sister grew up on the farm on Kelly Creek Northwest of Clarendon. She cherished her family all her life. Jewell spent a lot of time playing on the creek, and playing the guitar while singing with her little sister Rita, at many community events. Jewell also accompanied her father who played fine old time fiddle music in contest all over the state of Texas. Her whole family was very musical, and a very loving tight knit family. Jewell loved cooking she was a very good seamstress, and was very creative. She raised and adored her two children and on November 30, 1973, she married the love of her life, Robert L Millan in Clovis New Mexico. She and her family moved to Tucson AZ and lived there for 30 years. Her husband passed in 2003, soon after in 2005 she moved to Amarillo TX to be closer to her “sissy” Rita. They loved spending time together, visiting resale stores, garage sales, and antiquing.

Jewell lived her life to love and serve Jehovah God and her family. She loved studying bible truths and tried to live her life by bible principals. She truly knew the importance of putting her trust in Jehovah God, and did her best to live her life as an example to others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Jarrett, Merle, and Eldon David, her son Duane Thaden, and her husband Robert Millan.

Jewell is survived by her daughter Christyl Huaraque and her husband Frank of Tucson, her sister Rita Gonzales and husband Tony that Jewell called “brother”, her brother Ray David of Clarendon Tx, her grandchildren Gabryl and Jenae Huaraque, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a dear sister in law Aggie David of Crosby Tx.
