Jim Wesley Rodgers passed away on December 6, 2009. He was born to Woodrow Wilson Rodgers and Lona Marie Corgill Rodgers on October 18, 1950 in Childress, Texas. Wesley, as he was called, grew up at Cal Farley's Boys' Ranch; where he excelled in Rodeo and wrestling. After leaving Boys' Ranch, he served on board the USS Hornet, where he participated in the recovery of the first three Apollo moon capsules. He was the father of two children, Dustin C. Rodgers and Alisha Rodgers. Wesley enjoyed working the National Finals Rodeo for many years in Las Vegas, Nevada. More recently, Wes enjoyed driving his cab and traveling with his wife, Bobbie, and the company of their cats and Silkie Terriers. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, brothers David and Kenneth, sisters Brenda and Ginger, and many friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held at the Boys' Ranch Cemetery at a later date.
