Jonnie Loree (Jackson) Miller passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas.
Jonnie was born January 8, 1929 to M.H. (Buster) and Leta (Snider) Jackson in Knox County, Texas. She attended Cottonwood School and later Vera School. She was married to Olin (Bob) Miller on September 2, 1967 in Seymour, Texas.
She was a caregiver to many elderly in the Seymour, Red Springs, and Vera area. She was later employed as a seamstress for Hagar Slacks in Olney and Russell-Newman in Seymour.
Jonnie was very involved in her community. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour where she taught ceramics for numerous years. She also taught Sunday School for the 4 year-old class. She was a past president of the Plainview Home Demonstration Club. She was a volunteer with the Hospital Auxiliary. Jonnie had many hobbies including reading, quilting, sewing for her family and painting beautiful ceramic pieces. Her yard was always a showplace of color due to her green thumb.
She is survived by her daughter, Becky Winter and her husband Jerry of Amarillo, Texas; granddaughters Traci Winter and her husband Danny Hudson of Valley Mills, Texas and Taylor Winter of Waco, Texas; great granddaughter Greenly Hudson of Valley Mills.
Jonnie is also survived by two sisters, Janelle Roberts of Dallas and Peggy Woods of Longview; and a brother Gary (Butch) Jackson and his wife Mary of Summerduck, Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Jackson of Huachuca, Arizona.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Miller; parents Buster and Leta Jackson; siblings, Murval Jay Jackson, Joe Jackson, Dale Jackson and Virginia Jackson Illseng.
Visitation will be Saturday June 12, at Archer Funeral Home in Seymour, Texas from 10 am to noon. Graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm in the Masonic Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Seymour Cemetery Association, Seymour Hospital Auxiliary, or First Baptist Church of Seymour, Texas.
