Juan was born in Monterrey, Mexico, on October 20, 1934, to his parents, Salome and Maria Luisa Fonseca Villarreal. During a chance meeting, he met the lovely Minnie, who had come to Monterrey on missions to win people’s souls for the Lord. She ended up winning Juan’s heart as well! The couple were married in November 1967, and they had over forty-five years together before Minnie’s death in 2013.

Juan had a beautiful voice and was a talented musician.  He always shared the gospel and worshipped the Lord in song.  You really couldn’t talk about Juan or Minnie without talking about the other; they were a team.  They lived to serve the Lord in song and ministry and to live their lives serving others. They grew their family by opening their home to foster children.  God and family was his life.

Shortly before his death he shared with his daughter Chere that he longed to be singing praises in the presence of the Lord.  You can only imagine how happy he is now in heaven praising the Lord in song.

He was preceded in death by his parents, all his siblings, and his wife, Minnie.

Juan is survived by his daughter, Chere Lobos, and her husband, Javier of Frisco; daughter, Maria Villarreal; son, Lee Paul Villarreal; four grandchildren, Paul, Christian, Hadassah, and Hannah Lobos; close family friends, Margarito and Chelo Carreon; and children raised in love, Joe Arredondo and Betty Alaniz.

The funeral will be livestreamed, please see link below.
