Laura Jean Sanders

Laura Jean Sanders, age 42, was tragically taken from this life on March 18, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 24, 2023, at the LOFT Church, 4400 S. Georgia.  Pastor Matt Johnson will officiate.

Laura was born in Canadian on August 19, 1980, to Tommy Kirbo, Sr., and Tina Shropshire and attended Canadian High School.

Laura was a kind, big-hearted individual that had a passion for people.  She worked as a teacher's aide for the Highland Park Independent School District for the past four years and at Palo Duro High.

She had a unique way of pronouncing words that would make everyone smile; she was a proud Texan and embraced the southern drawl.  She was a little quirky and stubborn but the most compassionate and warm individual you could find.  Her children could always hear mom "cheering" for them rather loudly at all sporting events.  Laura always tried to assist David on various projects, whether he needed her help or not!  Everyone could agree that she was a good cook and adored her family and friends.  Laura was taken from this life much too soon and will forever be missed.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Ann Kirbo, and her nana, Mary Hughes.

Laura is survived by her husband, David;  three daughters, Julie Bond of Amarillo, Haley Calvert of Canadian, and Joyce Sanders of Amarillo; three sons, Jacob Bond and his fiancé Kelsi of Borger, and her twins, Isaac and Carson Sanders of Amarillo; mother, Tina Ansley and husband, Jim; father, Tommy Kirbo Sr. and wife, Beth;  a sister, Christine Meyers and husband, Josh of Meeker, OK;  brother, Tommy Turbo Jr., and wife, Cassie; one grandson, Josiah; and a host of other loving siblings, family, and friends.
