Leopoldo Lozano Ortega, Jr., 57, of Amarillo earned his wings on April 14, 2020.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
He was born in Merkel, TX to Henrietta and Leopoldo Ortega, Sr. on November 1, 1962. Leo served in the United States Army as a Diesel Mechanic and was also a retired professional roofer in Amarillo for over 35 years.
Leo became an ordained reverend in 2013. He loved life and had a great relationship with God. He would testify to everyone about Jesus. Leo was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is preceded in death by son, Victor Lewis Ortega; his mother, Henrietta Ortega; grandson, Deont’a McDonald;
Leo is survived by his wife, Jeannia McMillen-Ortega; daughters, Alice Perez and Kristi Gauna; sons, Richard Ortega and Fabian Ortega and wife, Kimberlee; step-daughter, Natasha Betancourt; grandchildren, Michael, Hope, Faith, Victor, Adrian, Cece, Marissa, Blue, Fabian, Mase, Deont’a, Aunjsiana, Elijah, Yasiah, Yamoni, Seneca and Sevyn; great-grandchildren, Roman and Ariel; 5 sisters, Lupe Fasano, Teresa Ortega, Christina Bitela, Angela Owens and Gabrielle Ortega all of Amarillo; 4 brothers, Victor Ortega, John Ortega and wife, Christina, Joe Ortega all of Amarillo and Chris Ortega of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
