Linda Epperson Miller

Linda Epperson Miller was born October 8, 1947 in Leonard, Texas to Elvin and Mary Taylor Scroggins. She attended school in Wayside, Happy, and graduated from Tulia High School where she played basketball. She then moved to Amarillo and  graduated from Cosmetology School. She was best described by her youngest daughter as being sassy, smart, and funny. She was most recently employed at Opinions Unlimited where she rose to training manager.

For almost 20 years she was a 3rd grade Sunday School and Bible School teacher at Paramount Baptist Church. She always loved working in the nursery, and was assistant director of weddings for many years.  Before becoming a member of Paramount, she attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Linda was always involved in her three children’s school activities at South Lawn, Fannin, and Caprock. She was a Brownie troop leader, and PTA mom. She never missed a game, play, concert, ceremony, class party, or doctor’s appointment. Linda was a fun mom who loved playing video games at the arcade and at home. She always took some extra quarters to the grocery store to play video games. Centipede was her absolute favorite, she once refused to leave the game until she got her initials in the top 10.  She was awesome at decorating for the holidays, and all the neighborhood kids were delighted to see the Halloween and Christmas decorations in the picture window. Her second marriage really brought her out of her comfort zone and they had a lot of fun times together. She went camping and slept in a tent for the first time ever, and loved it! They went camping as often as they could after that. Linda and Gary Miller had many adventures, and cruised Old Rt. 66 anytime they had a whim. Her hobbies included loving her kitties Cleo and Gracie, her dog Leo, eating sweets, and ALL things Elvis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Elvin “Sonny” Scroggins, sister Mary Needham, granddaughter Harmoney LeAnn, nephew Steve Scroggins Lake, and her sweet husband Gary Miller.

She is survived by her children; Deana Epperson Gamble and husband John of Las Vegas, NV, Patrick Epperson and wife Gloria of Amarillo,  and Devona Crawford and husband Ryan of Amarillo.  Eight grandchildren that were her heart Taylor, Tyler, Morgan, Kaydance, Ella, Maverick, Noah, Zach, and about ten kids that call her Grandma Linda, that she adored as her own. Four nephews Randy, Chris, and Thad Needham, Jimmy Scroggins Lake and wife Kristi. Linda had multiple great-nieces and nephews that made her heart smile, and dozens of people that called her Aunt Linda. Plus many beloved cousins she spoke of often. Her dearest friends the Prichard family were always there for her, and she cherished their relationship, especially when they brought her Cadbury Eggs. Linda was a force to be reckoned with, we will all miss her strength, humor, and love.

The family will receive guests Saturday April 10th, 2pm at Paramount Baptist Church on South Western. A celebration dinner will follow at Jorge’s on Bell.

Family suggests memorials be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research, or The Amarillo Panhandle Humane Society Cat adoptions.
