Margie Camarillo

Margie Camarillo, 71, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Christian Life Center, 2920 SW 5th Ave (5th and Alabama).  Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.

Margie was born on February 20, 1946 in San Angelo, Texas to John and Delores Ynojosa. Her father worked in the oil refineries and that work would take them to Denver, Colorado when Margie was 11 years old. Their time in Denver was short lived. After just a few years when Margie was 14, they moved back to San Angelo.

At 15, she met who would soon be her future husband and love of her life, Daniel Camarillo. They dated for two years and married at the age of 17 on October 19, 1963. A family of five children soon followed. Margie went to school to become a cosmetologist. She loved having her hair done as well as doing other people’s hair. Margie was also known for her cooking. She loved to cook and bake for everyone.

It was in 2008 when she was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the liver. She fought a great fight until October 2017.  When she was called home, she was received by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law; two brothers; one sister; two sisters-in-law; and two grandbabies.

She leaves behind a husband, Daniel Camarillo; the second love of her life, fur baby Cosmo; five children, Daniel Camarillo Jr., Frank Camarillo and wife Isabel, Michael and wife Tommie Sue Camarillo, Corina Ramirez, and Michelle Flores and husband Harvey; 10 grandchildren, Nikki Camarillo, Levi Camarillo, Bryce and Danielle Tilley, Izabela Flores, Joel Flores, Jacob Whittington, Caleb and Katie Whittington, and Mason Camarillo; and 2 great-grandbabies, Beau Tilley and Walter Whittington.
