Maria Mayorga, 85, died on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
Rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Angel Funeral Home’s Chapel of Angels. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 15, 2017 at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N. Spring St., with Rev. Felipe Alvarez as celebrant. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Maria was born in Jalisco, Mexico on July 5, 1931 to Mauro and Beatrice Mayorga. She then moved to Porvenir, Mexico where she married Nasario Vargas and conceived 9 children. She loved to knit and loved watching TV. She loved to play and talk with her grandkids. Coca Cola was her favorite drink. She was a wonderful house wife, an awesome mother and amazing grandmother. She was considered the most fabulous and sweetest person anyone could meet.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nasario Vargas; one daughter; and four sons.
Maria is survived by one daughter, Teresa Vargas of Amarillo; three sons, Arnoldo Vargas and Guadalupe Vargas, both of Amarillo, and Angel Vargas of Arizona; and countless grandchildren and great grandchildren.
