Mary Rose (Burton) Bowen

Mary Rose Bowen, 74, of Amarillo, passed peacefully on September 23, 2024.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Yes Lord Church, 630 N Bivins St., Amarillo. Chaplain Gene Johnson will officiate.

Mary was born on June 24, 1949, in Fresno, California, to her parents, Herman N. and Mary E. Burton.

Mary enjoyed fishing, game nights, and spending time with family.  Mary was a loving mother and grandmother while simultaneously being an important pillar of the family. Mary will be fondly remembered and missed by all those left behind.

Mary was a beloved member of the family who always called to check up on everyone when the weather got bad. She’ll always be remembered as the mother who took care of the family and as the grandmother who never forgot to call on one’s birthday.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, and three siblings. Mary is survived by her brother, two children, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

May she rest in peace in God's loving arms, where she can live comfortably and peacefully.
