Melchor Vences died Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Amarillo.
Rosary will be said Friday, May 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Angel Funeral Home. Mass will be Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. Jose Gomez officiating. Interment will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Angel Funeral Home.
Melchor was forever a poet and a crazy fanatic of (futbol) soccer. He thought the best team was “Los Pumas” and his favorite band was “Los Tigres del Norte”.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Juana Vences Jaimes and his grandparents Liandra Garcia Ocampo, Rosas Vences, Modesta Jimenez and Florentino Jaimes and a sister Maria Vences.
He is survived by a daughter, Ana Alicia Vences and son, Melchor Vences, Jr.; sisters Griselda Vences Jaimes, Concepcion Vences, Norma Vences; brothers Jorge Vences, Elmer Vences, Baltazar Vences, Gaspar Vences and Juan Vences; his father, Jorge Vences and one grandchild.
