Melinda Kay (Edson) Tripp

Melinda Kay Tripp, 57, of Amarillo gained her angel wings on November 13th, 2022.

She was known more affectionately as “GG”. She was a caring, strong, and devoted woman. She was born to L. D. and Linda Edson, on July 16th, 1965, in Odessa, Texas. Melinda devoted her life to being a housewife, committed mother, and grandmother.

She met the love of her life David Tripp in 2002, After falling madly in love they were married on December 30th, 2004. Melinda and David built a life together traveling the world by 18-wheeler and seeing the beautiful sights of the U.S. in the early years of their marriage. They later settled down and spent their time attending their grandchildren’s many activities, functions, and enjoying their life together for the last 20 years. Melinda was known for her ability to help everyone; She babysat all her grandchildren their entire lives and enjoyed spoiling them. She enjoyed her job as a dispatcher for T-Miller wrecking service for 9 years.

Melinda is proceeded in death by her youngest son Brandon Ray Scott, her father L. D. Edson, her mother Linda Kay Spann, and her younger brother Justin Michael Jass. She is survived by her husband David Tripp of Amarillo, Her mother- in- law Christine Tripp of Roanoke Rapids, her sister Lori Rhodes and Husband Calvin of Odessa, her daughter Angela Scott of Fritch, her son Aaron Scott of Midland, her nephew Dillon Rhodes, her niece Amanda Rhodes, her nephew Blake Rhodes, and grandchildren Chandler Abadie, Natalie Abadie, Terry Anthony, Aaron Scott Jr, and Briley Scott.

Service will be held at Christian Heritage Church 900 S. Nelson Amarillo, Tx on Wednesday 11/16/2022 at 11am.
