Minerva De La Cruz

Minerva De La Cruz, 69, of Amarillo Texas, passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2019 surrounded by family.

Funeral service will be at 3:00 on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 4500 Westhills Trail, Amarillo, Texas.

Minerva was born on March 7, 1950 in Las Cruces, New Mexico where she grew up. She graduated from Mayfield High School in 1969. Minerva married her loving husband of 49 years, David De La Cruz in Las Cruces. They moved to Amarillo in 1972 where they raised their two children and Minerva was employed at the First Bank of the Southwest, and then became an aerobics instructor and massage therapist.

Minerva leaves behind her loving husband David De La Cruz, 2 sons, Andrew De La Cruz and wife Morgan, and Paul Zachery “Zack” De La Cruz, 1 grandson, (Tristin) and 1 granddaughter, (Ember). Minerva is also survived by two brothers Joe Chavez of Jackson, Mississippi and Ron Chavez of Tucson, Arizona and two sisters, Pamela Washburn and Michelle Sanchez of Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents, Matilde and Jose Chavez.
