Ramiro Rubio Gomez

Ramiro Rubio Gomez, age 64 of Amarillo entered the gates of Heaven on January 21, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Public viewing will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur.  The funeral service will be on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Angel Funeral Home.

Ramiro was born on October 19, 1958 in Crane, Texas to his parents Adam and Crisanta Rubio Gomez.

He married Carmen Costello in 1988 in Amarillo.  A marriage that would last over the next thirty five years.  Despite his many health issues, Ramiro was continually upbeat and positive.  He never met a stranger, he could walk into a room not knowing a soul and would leave with lifelong friends.  He greeted everyone with a smile.  He could even be a little “flirty” with his nurses.

Ramiro had a love for dancing, listening to Tejano music and the 49ers.  Probably about the only thing he was more passionate about was time with family, especially his grandchildren.  He loved waiting for his grandchildren to arrive after school.  Ramiro also shared his love for wrestling with them, something that was not always appreciated by their parents!  He was a friend to all and will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife Carmen; his two daughters, Amber Gomez and her husband Diego and Brittany Gomez and her husband Jeremiah both of Amarillo; four sisters, Yolanda Martinez and her husband Lazaro of Dumas, Maryjane Collins of Amarillo, Cynthia Porras and husband Manuel of Dumas and Geneva Monjares Gomez of Ft. Worth; two brothers, Ruben Gomez and his wife Denise of Lubbock and Jose Gomez of Houston; his mother Crisanta Gomez and his grandchildren, Tre-vin, Jay-den, Kay-den, Lay-lah, Abraham, Christian,  Joziah, Jordan and Brooklynn.
