Ramona Lewis Karr

Ramona Lewis Karr, age 65 formally of Artesia, died December 5, 2015 in Amarillo.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, December 29th at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett officiating. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Ramona was born October 26, 1950 in Bokoshe, Oklahoma to William James and Bessie Lee Bourne Lewis.
On August 20, 1971 she married Sam Karr in Artesia. They celebrated their 44th Anniversary this year.
Ramona drove a school bus for the Artesia School District before beginning her work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia from which she retired. The couple moved to Amarillo in 2013.
Ramona loved her family dearly, but her joy was centered on the lives of her five precious grandchildren and of course her dachshunds. She also enjoyed traveling and had become a member of the Friends and New Neighbors of Amarillo.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents and by one grandson, Eckertt Grey in 2014.
She is survived by her husband Sam of Amarillo; two sons, Brent Karr and his wife Charla of Seminole, Texas and David Karr and his wife Amy of Lamar, CO; two sisters, Doris Reiser of Artesia, NM and Dean Baskett and her husband Jerry of Gardendale, TX; one brother, Larry Lewis and his wife Christa of Keller, TX; and five grandchildren, Madolyn, Jarryd, Bryce, Conner and Brennen.
The family suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
