Reina Payes

Reina Payes, 73, of Amarillo, Texas, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 South Arthur.  Pastor Spike Maldonado of New Life will officiate,

Reina was born in El Salvador on September 18, 1949, to Victor Manuel Calderon and Maria Hortencia Delgado Escobar.

She was married to her late husband, Alfonso Payes.  Reina gave her love and energy to raising their three children.  She is described as being sweet, kind, generous – giving without hesitation.

Reina is preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Gladis Mercedes Cubias.  She is survived by her son Daniel Antonio; and daughter, Reina Elizabeth and husband Tim Wilson; and son Juan Raymundo and his wife Karen; sister, Martha Vargas; Sister Roxanna Carranza; and brother, Victor Calderon.  Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
