Robert James Noonan, 66, of Amarillo died Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2013, in St. Thomas Catholic Church Chapel with the Rev. John Valdez officiating. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur.
Robert was born in Boston Massachusetts, and lived in Worcester, Massachusetts for 26 years. He was employed at the Globe Restaurant and several other restaurants in the area. He moved to Amarillo in 1972 where he was a chef at the Wishbone Restaurant, and also worked at ASARCO for 15 years. He owned AA Royal Taxi for 12 years.
Bob loved his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father who loved life and lived it to the fullest. His passion was cooking. He was “the chef of chefs.” No one will ever take his place.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes O’Connor; his father, Raymond Noonan; step-father, Ronald Waters; and his oldest son, Michael Noonan.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Judy Noonan; three sons in Worcester, Massachusetts, Robert James Noonan, Jr., Shaun Noonan and Richard Noonan; two very special sons in Amarillo, Mark A. Noonan and Christopher J. Noonan; two very special granddaughters, Victoria Noonan of Borger and Casey Schurke of Amarillo; a very special grandson, Michael J. Noonan; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
