Jimmy Romero

Santiago “Jimmy” Romero, 79, passed on to his eternal home on November 25, 2023.  Jimmy was born April 24, 1944, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to Alfonso C. Romero, Sr., and Luisa Arias.

Rosary will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery.

Jimmy worked for 20 years as an Amarillo Independent School District custodian and loved his job. He enjoyed playing scratch-offs and watching cowboy movies.  He was a quiet and private person, but he always had a smile on his face. You could find him often outside working in his yard and sometimes in a neighbor's yard.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents. He will be cherished by those who remain: His children, Mary Romero and husband, Jesus Aguirre; Tina Romero; Jimmy Romero, Jr. and wife Kay Romero; and David Romero.  His Sister, Judy Quintero, husband, Willie Quintero, and his brothers, Alfonso Romero, Jr. and Tony Romero. Jimmy was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
