Sharon Ruth Evans, age 78, peacefully passed from this life at her home on Sunday, March 16, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.

A memorial service to celebrate her remarkable life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, at 4100 South Georgia in Amarillo.

Sharon was born in Amarillo on June 28, 1946, to her parents, Rudy J. and Ruth Weeks Bateman. She was a woman of remarkable strength, resilience, and unwavering devotion. Known for her maternal spirit, she raised a successful family with tenacity and love. Her children were the light of her life, and their achievements brought her immense pride. Sharon's strength and dedication laid the foundation for their successful lives, a legacy that will carry on for generations to come.

An extraordinary cook, Sharon's warm kitchen was often filled with the aromas of her favorite dishes, prepared with love and always in excess. Whether hosting family gatherings or welcoming friends, she never turned anyone away without offering a meal and a smile and ensuring no one left her table hungry.

Known for her warmth and friendliness, Sharon could light up any room with her laughter and conversation, never meeting a stranger. Her long-term friendships were a testament to her caring nature and her ability to connect with others. She was known for her warm spirit, endearing stubbornness, and ever-present love that enveloped all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Patsy Cain; her husband, Russell Evans; and two grandsons, Cody Wade Bateman and Brian Shane Everitt.

Sharon is survived by her children, Teresa Everitt and her husband Mark of Amarillo, Jennifer Swinney and her husband Bradley of Eunice, NM, Ronald Mowles of Waddell, AZ and Michael Bateman and his wife Connie of Fritch; her grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Willow, Sebastian, Liam, Chassidie, Ashton, Chevelle, Chris and Madison; her great grandchildren, Odin, MiKayla, Khory, Nirvana, Parker and Caroline; her beloved feline companion, Pumpkin; and her dear friends and care takers, Norma and Jesse.

Family and friends are invited to gather and share their memories, celebrating the incredible person she was and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
