Spencer Edward Roland, 36 years old of Amarillo, Texas passed away July 22, 2023.
Spencer was born on March 29, 1987, to Kirk and Shawna Roland in Indio, California. He spent the first 13 years of his life growing up in the Marysville, Washington area. Spencer began his mechanical passion for all things with motors by modifying his remote-controlled cars and later graduated to dirt bikes.
At age 13 Spencer moved to Joshua Tree, California where he spent most of his formative years making lifelong friends, strengthening his love for off-roading and motorcycles, honing his fabrication skills, and it is also where he got his start in the wind energy industry which he was very passionate about.
He later spent several years traveling the nation on various wind turbine projects, applying his vast knowledge and expertise while leaving a giant impression everywhere he went.
He moved to Texas at the age of 27 and loved it. He loved the people, the values, and that Canadian River!
He met Chey at a young age and was permanently smitten with her beautiful, caring, and intelligent soul. She instantly loved him right back!! His love for Chey radiated so loudly it was even felt by those who only followed his life from afar. Spencer loved nothing more than sharing good times with good friends or taking fun trips with their beloved dogs.
Spencer was a research and parts wizard, a self-taught technical genius who took immense pride in his workmanship. He loved making things better and faster and teaching others along the way. He was an extremely honest and loyal friend with a great sense of humor and sarcasm. He held himself and others to a high standard. He spoke with honor, loyalty, and true passion about what he believed in.
Big as life and twice as beautiful, and if you knew him, you would be connected to him forever. Spencer was the guy who made sure everyone was enjoying themselves everywhere he went. He was going to engage you and make you laugh - there was no way around it!
Spencer was proud to be a descendant of The Skwah First Nation of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada via his mother’s side of the genealogy. And thoroughly enjoyed visiting the reservation in 2017.
Everyone adored and respected Spencer. His passing is a huge loss for his loved ones. His absence is absolutely immeasurable.
He is preceded in death by grandfathers Len Roland and Doug Crockett; his beloved pets Roxy and Sprocket; and, unfortunately, many dear friends.
Spencer is survived by his devoted wife Chey Roland; parents Shawna Roland of Palm Desert, CA and Kirk and Nancy Roland of Joshua Tree, CA; step father Joe Hahn; sister Misty Roland and nephew Jack Roland; sisters Michele Brummitt and Jolie Lynch; brothers Kirk Roland, Jr. and Jarek Lynch; grandparents Jenny Donohue, Mel and Carol Donohue and Karen Crockett; Uncle Mark Donohue and Aunt Nicole, Uncle Greg Roland, Aunt Sylvia Hahn; his very large family also includes many more aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and in-laws, as well as many groups of friends that he thought of as his chosen family.
