Thomas "Tommy" Edward Rankin

Tommy loved the Lord. He believed with all his heart in the Lord. He prayed regularly and prayed before his meals. He loved the Lord.

From Tommy’s birth, he was curious about everything. He would get a toy and he would take it apart to see what made it tick. He was a car buff. He would take cars and do the impossible with them to make them awesome of to make them fast. He took a 440 Hemi motor and put it into a Gremlin car and he said “that’s awesome.”

He worked for Grand Battery & Electric and he was good at what he did most of the time. He enjoyed rebuilding things and they people he worked with. He was a kind person. He didn’t have any enemies that he didn’t forgive. He was often seen giving his last two dollars to a homeless person as he told them “God Bless You.” Tommy simply loved life.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Ruth and Ray Palmer; grandparents, James and Edna Cameron; and his mother, Barbara Jean Harlan all of Amarillo.

Tommy is survived by his parents, Tommy Harlan and wife, Ann; brother, Nolan Harris; Carolyn Schroder, Dave and Debbi Harlan, Kenneth and Pat Harlan, and Eleanor Harlan; and sister, Joanna Harlan and Christy Fraley.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Angel Funeral Home.
