Toribio Acosta, age 75 of Amarillo died Wednesday, November 28, 2012.
Rosary will be at 6pm Friday at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S. Arthur St.
Funeral Mass is Saturday at 1:00 PM at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Rev. Felipe Alvarez as celebrant. Burial is at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Angel Funeral Home.
Toribio was born October 2, 1937 in Mexico to Candelario and Maria deJesus Carbajal Acosta. He worked for many years as a farmer/rancher in the Panhandle and raised his family along with Felicitas, his wife of over 52 years.
Toribio is described by his family as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and they brought him much joy. He was a very hard worker and instilled that character quality in his children. He and his wife attend St. Laurence Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Ruben Acosta.
Toribio is survived by; his loving wife, Felicitas, 1 daughter, Alma Belia Ponce and husband Javier of Amarillo; 4 sons, Efrain Acosta and wife Antonia, Leopoldo Acosta and wife Alma, Candelario Acosta and wife Alma, all of Amarillo and Cesar Acosta and wife Menny of Chihuahua, Mex.; 2 sisters, Eulogia and Candelaria Acosta both of Chihuahua and 2 brothers, Manuel Acosta of Chihuahua and Sylvester Acosta of El Paso; 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren who will all miss him dearly.
