Lee, as he was better known, was born in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Franklin Heights High School, class of 1990. He later attended the Ohio State University before becoming a truck driver. Lee was in his glory with video games. Online to fellow gamers he was known Zanthas4000.
Lee is survived by his father Vernon Sturgill Jr (Cindy) sister Christina Nyren, brother Ronald Sturgill, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends Angel Waldrop and Harmony Hamilton. Lee was preceded in death by his mother Sherry (Hannah) Sturgill, grandparents Robert and Dolores Hannah, grandparents Vernon and Kathryn Sturgill.
Lee loved animals. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to an animal rescue organization. In accordance with Lee's wishes he will be cremated and he will return to his boyhood home of Ohio. This time he is out on the long haul, without an ETA, an ELD or a GPS and not a care in the world. Lord please welcome him with open arms. With a void in our hearts and lives we say good bye.
There is an empty chair, a discarded controller somewhere. A silent place where, Zanthras once paired. The quite refrain of "hey guys", my ears they long to hear. Slaying the enemy, racing the car, Finding potions both near and far. Excited chatter, laughter, rescues and curses now silent... We mourn your empty chair and gallant talent. A fellow gamer silenced by death's final quest, no Easter eggs, no healers, no resurrects. Only camping in that final Good Game, no remakes, no new games. We no longer hear his voice calling and it ties our hearts ours in knots. For he cries, “Though a comrade has fallen, You must play for those who cannot!" We conquered worlds and racetracks on the run, All of us, all in the name of fun. Gamers please stand in prayer, as we grieve Zanthras' empty chair. Raise your controller in salute, and send a fellow gamer home to the group. And as others may come and go, and I make both both friend and foe. What I long for the most, is too once again hear his voice. "Hey guys..."
