Wiley Smith was born in Clarksville, Texas, on December 22nd, 1941. His parents are Samuel A Smith (father) and Sallie Burks (mother). Wiley was the father of 5 children. Tanya Cloudy, Kevin Smith, Dina Smith, Candace Ashley, and Brice Jones.
Wiley attended Carver High School in Amarillo, Texas. He served in the United States Army, and he retired from Bell Helicopter. Wiley loved Landscaping and Singing. He was also known for his Dance moves. His favorite Artist was Sam Cook. He traveled around in the 50s & 60s singing with groups from Hittsville, now called Motown today. He loved fishing and working on cars. Wiley was a devoted church member who loved socializing with his brothers and sisters in bible study.
Wiley leaves to cherish his memories: Tanya (Raymond Cloudy), Kevin Smith, Candace (Steve Ashley), Dina Smith, and Brice Jones (Jennifer). Brothers, Dock Smith (Bobbie), SW Smith (Sharon), Robert Smith, Mal Smith. Sisters, Emmer Lee Hale, Bettie Calhoun (Willie), Floria Williams (Elgin), Mary Jane Redmond (Curtis), and a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Richard Smith, Samuel Smith Jr., Willie James Smith, and one sister Jurline Smith Ford.
Any flowers sent to the family should be delivered to Beacon Baptist Church at 417 S. McMaster St. Amarillo, Texas. Pastor Curtis Redmond will officiate the Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11 am at Beacon Baptist Church.
